Juventus Appoint Ex- Azzurri Boss the Experienced Gaffer

Juventus have appointed former Italy head coach the veteran manager as their manager for the rest of the term.

The 66-year-old takes over from his predecessor, who was sacked following the loss to Lazio on Sunday.

The former boss came on board in March to replace Thiago Motta but exited following a seven-month stint after an eight-game winless streak.

Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, who had failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

He helped them qualify for Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

However, Spalletti was sacked by Italy in June following a loss to Norway in World Cup qualifying, putting Italy in danger of missing a third straight World Cup.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese moving them to seventh position in the league - six points adrift of Napoli at the top after nine rounds.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
